The Courier Mail has confirmed that the Broncos have successfully resolved the contract deadlock, ensuring that Walsh will remain with the team and not enter negotiations with other clubs after November 1. Despite securing a significant pay increase, making him the highest-paid player in the club's history at $1.1 million annually, Walsh's market value is believed to be even higher. Other clubs could have potentially offered him more lucrative deals, but his commitment to Brisbane and his teammates led him to reduce his initial asking price from $6 million. Andrew Johns, a former rugby league player, expressed that the Broncos have made a wise investment, calling the deal a 'steal' if Walsh maintains his performance on the field.
