Modi hands over keys to 1,675 new flats for slum residents in Delhi

In India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated 1,675 new flats aimed at residents of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. The project is part of the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project aimed at improving conditions for the urban poor in the capital. In addition to the new flats, Modi also inaugurated two major urban redevelopment projects: the World Trade Centre at Nauroji Nagar and a new Integrated Office Complex for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in Dwarka. The WTC project replaces outdated quarters with modern commercial infrastructure designed with eco-friendly features, aligning with the government's commitment to sustainable development. The initiative aims to create commercial spaces that can boost economic activities in the region. Furthermore, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for three new projects in Delhi University worth over Rs 600 crore. This includes campuses aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure, which the government believes is crucial for economic growth and skill development.
