Temecula Motorcyclists Arrested Following Pursuit

Temecula, CA – A significant police operation unfolded on Saturday afternoon as more than a dozen motorcyclists were arrested after allegedly leading deputies on a brief pursuit. The incident began around 1 p.m. when deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Southwest Station observed a large group of motorcyclists blocking traffic near Rancho California Road and Diaz Road, causing disruptions for other motorists. As the group continued onto the 15 Freeway, they reportedly failed to stop at a red light before merging onto the southbound lanes. When deputies attempted to pull the motorcyclists over, the group fled, initiating a short chase that concluded just north of Rainbow Valley Boulevard. The situation escalated, prompting the involvement of additional deputies, Murrieta Police officers, and Riverside County's Gang Task Force to manage the large group. In total, 13 motorcyclists were arrested during the operation, with charges varying among the suspects. Six individuals were taken into custody for evading law enforcement, while others faced charges related to possession of prohibited weapons, tear gas, and a dirk or dagger. One suspect was apprehended for being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, and another for reckless driving along with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. All suspects were booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta, though their identities have not been disclosed.
