Amazon Prime is gearing up to launch its new drama series, A Very Royal Scandal, which will explore the controversial Newsnight interview with Prince Andrew. Starring Michael Sheen and Ruth Wilson, the three-part series aims to provide a different perspective on the events surrounding the infamous BBC interview, contrasting with Netflix's recent release, Scoop, which debuted on April 5, 2024. The series, directed by Julian Jarrold and written by Jeremy Brock, is set to premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on September 19. It seeks to highlight the significance of journalism during a critical moment in British history. In Amazon's version, Clare Calbraith is expected to portray Sam, adding a new dimension to the narrative. A Very Royal Scandal marks the latest addition to Amazon's 'Scandal' series, which has previously collaborated with the BBC.
