The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office is currently evaluating a warrant request from the Detroit Police Department concerning the case of missing teenager Na'Ziyah Harris. Maria Miller, the communications director for the prosecutor's office, confirmed that the review process will take time and is not expected to conclude this week. Details surrounding the warrant request remain undisclosed as both Miller and Detroit Sgt. Daron Zhou refrain from providing further information. Na'Ziyah Harris was last seen on January 9 after disembarking from her school bus near Cornwall and Three Mile Drive in Detroit, following her departure from Clark Elementary School. Her family reported her missing to school district officials the next day, prompting the Detroit Police Department to take over the investigation on February 13. Since then, multiple searches have been conducted in an effort to locate her. In March, 14 law enforcement agencies participated in a search along the Rouge River, following tips that directed them to a specific area behind Greater Grace Temple. Detroit Police Chief James White expressed concerns that the situation may be evolving into a recovery effort rather than a search for a missing person. He emphasized the importance of community assistance, urging anyone with information about Harris's whereabouts to come forward. Earlier in March, authorities also conducted a search of a pond in Clinton Township, further demonstrating the extensive efforts being made to find the missing teen.
