Teenager killed by brother’s American Bully dogs in Thailand

On August 30, an 18-year-old named Adisak Chansakunnee was tragically killed by two American Bully dogs in Muang district, Thailand. The dogs, named Fino and Tesla, belonged to Adisak's older brother, Apisit, a police officer who had recently brought them home from Bangkok. At the time of the incident, Apisit was working a night shift, leaving Adisak responsible for the dogs, which he may not have been adequately trained to handle safely. The attack occurred after Adisak entered a bedroom where the dogs were locked. Security footage indicated that he was attacked when he attempted to flee downstairs. His lifeless body was discovered approximately 12 hours later, and the dogs' mother, Tank Gas, was found injured, suggesting she may have tried to protect him. The incident has ignited a heated debate regarding the safety of American Bully dogs as pets, especially given their history of aggression. Just weeks prior, another attack involving American Bully dogs resulted in the death of a 70-year-old man in Khon Kaen province. This has led to calls for the dogs involved in Adisak's death to be euthanized, although Apisit is advocating for their rehoming with experienced owners. The family is mourning the loss of Adisak, and his mother is receiving medical treatment after collapsing from the shock. The situation has raised significant concerns about dog ownership and the responsibilities that come with it, particularly for breeds known for their strength and potential for aggression.
