UK Pledges Support to Ukraine on Independence Anniversary

As Ukraine commemorates 33 years of independence from the Soviet Union, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reaffirmed the nation's unwavering support, stating, "We are with you today and always." His message, delivered to both frontline fighters and Ukrainian refugees in the UK, emphasizes a collective commitment from the British people to stand by Ukraine amid ongoing conflict. Starmer's remarks coincide with community events across the UK celebrating Ukraine's resilience and identity. Ukraine declared its independence on August 24, 1991, a decision later endorsed by voters in a referendum. Starmer highlighted the importance of this anniversary, expressing solidarity with Ukrainians both at home and abroad.
