The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a status report to the Supreme Court regarding its ongoing investigation into the rape and murder of a woman doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata. This marks the second hearing in the case, with the CBI reportedly uncovering several critical missing links. Notably, there is a significant time gap between the discovery of the victim's body on August 9 and the notification to local police, raising questions about the hospital's response. As part of the investigation, CBI officials have been rigorously interrogating Dr. Ghosh, a key figure in the case, for extended periods of 12 to 14 hours daily since last Friday. On Thursday, Dr. Ghosh returned to the CBI's Salt Lake office for further questioning, and his driver has also been summoned for interrogation. The CBI aims to piece together the timeline and circumstances surrounding the incident. Another critical aspect of the investigation is identifying the individual who first discovered the victim's body in the seminar hall. Investigators believe that pinpointing this person could provide answers to many unresolved questions in the case. The woman doctor was found under mysterious circumstances, prompting widespread protests in Kolkata and across the nation.
