Piedmont Advantage Credit Union celebrates 75 years in Winston-Salem

Piedmont Advantage Credit Union (PACU) marked a significant milestone on September 25, 2024, by celebrating its 75th Annual Membership Meeting in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The event brought together over 100 members and featured inspiring speeches from President & CEO Dion Williams, Chairman of the Board Tom Mekis, and Kristina Ray from the North Carolina Credit Union Division. Their remarks underscored PACU's long-standing commitment to supporting its members and the surrounding community. During the meeting, Mayor Allen Joines presented a proclamation that officially designates December 10 as Piedmont Advantage Credit Union Day in Winston-Salem, recognizing the credit union's contributions over the past 75 years. This acknowledgment reflects the organization's deep roots in the community and its ongoing mission to serve its member-owners. The meeting also highlighted the evolution of PACU, which began as Piedmont Aviation Credit Union in 1949, and its transformation into Piedmont Advantage. The leadership emphasized the importance of community engagement and volunteerism, which have been integral to PACU's governance and operations. Looking ahead, PACU plans to enhance its services with a significant upgrade to its core banking system and the launch of a new website by early 2025.
