Story

West Ham United has expressed interest in acquiring Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The club, under new manager Julen Lopetegui, has made significant investments this summer, with the recent signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka marking their eighth addition. While the Hammers have focused on strengthening their defense, they are now looking to bolster their midfield options. Despite having a solid midfield lineup that includes James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez, Tomas Soucek, and Guido Rodriguez, West Ham is keen on exploring the possibility of bringing Soler to London. The 26-year-old midfielder, who primarily plays centrally, has been with PSG since leaving Valencia in the summer of 2022. During his time in Paris, Soler has made 63 appearances, contributing eight goals and eight assists. Soler's career has been decorated with numerous accolades, including two Ligue 1 titles, a French Cup, and a French Super Cup with PSG, in addition to a Copa Del Rey title from his time at Valencia. He has also represented Spain at the international level, earning 14 caps and scoring four goals, and was part of the Under-21 team that won the European Championship in 2019. As West Ham continues to reshape its squad, the potential signing of Soler could add depth and creativity to their midfield, further enhancing their ambitions for the upcoming season.
