While the Colombian government did not bear the majority of the trip's costs, reports suggest that certain elements received state support. This includes potential backing for travel expenses from President Gustavo Petro's administration and meals that may have been part of an official package. Additionally, the Afro Women and Power Forum reportedly benefited from national government funding.
