In a significant safety recall, Toyota announced it is recalling nearly 400,000 vehicles in the United States, with the majority being 2022-2025 Tundras and 2023-2025 Sequoia hybrids. The recall was initiated after federal traffic safety regulators identified a malfunction related to the rearview camera display not working properly when the vehicle is in reverse, posing an increased risk of crashes. A total of 393,838 automobiles are affected, and more than half of these are non-hybrid Tundra models. The malfunction has been traced to a software problem that can be rectified through a simple update provided free of charge at authorized dealerships. Owner notification letters are expected to be distributed starting November 16. Toyota customers can also reach out to the customer service hotline for additional information regarding the recall. The federal safety regulators have provided specific recall numbers, 25TB10 and 25TA10, which owners can reference when seeking assistance.
