Jessyka Castillo, the founder and CEO of Fitness + Financial Gains, has transformed her personal battle with mental health into a thriving athleisure line aimed at fostering community and well-being. Struggling with social anxiety and a declining mental state in 2022, Castillo realized that physical movement was essential for her recovery. "I always knew that was my ticket out of my mental prison," she stated, emphasizing the importance of taking action to improve her situation. In response to her challenges, Castillo began hosting workout classes and yoga sessions on the beach, creating a supportive environment for others facing similar issues. She noted that societal pressures often lead individuals to neglect their mental health, stating, "As we get older, we bend to the social norms of going out, not getting good rest or just overspending." This realization inspired her to build a community focused on mental health, which ultimately led to the launch of her clothing line. Castillo's designs cater to a diverse audience, particularly celebrating curvy figures and Afro-Latina identity. She expressed joy in witnessing individuals of all shapes and sizes find clothing that resonates with them during her pop-up events. "I love that feeling; it's really rewarding," she remarked, highlighting the inclusive nature of her brand. Looking ahead, Castillo aims to expand her reach by collaborating with brands in Broward and West Palm Beach, further cultivating a community where individuals can feel accepted and at home.
