Police Seize Knife from Teen in Stockport

Footage has emerged showing five police officers allegedly "kicking and punching" a 16-year-old boy during his arrest, prompting a complaint from the boy's mother to Greater Manchester Police. This incident comes on the heels of another controversial arrest at Manchester Airport, where two officers are currently under criminal investigation for their actions. The police have stated that during the arrest, a knife, balaclava, and e-bike were seized, and the driver involved will be questioned for failing to stop. The arrest occurred under Section 60 stop and search powers, which were authorized due to concerns about potential disorder in the area. This measure has been implemented by several police forces across the UK following recent riots. However, the boy's mother, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed her shock at the level of violence displayed during the arrest, questioning its necessity. She stated that her primary concern was her son's well-being, and the footage shattered her trust in law enforcement. In the CCTV footage, the teenager can be seen attempting to evade officers on an electric bike. As he lies on the ground, one officer is seen punching him, while another approaches from behind and kicks him. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that their Professional Standards Directorate is reviewing the video circulating on social media, which depicts the incident that took place on August 7th in Heald Green.
