Europe seeks to mobilize $840 billion to enhance defense capabilities

In response to escalating global security challenges, especially following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, European Union leaders are focusing on boosting defense spending. This initiative is encapsulated in the proposed ReArm Europe Plan by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who aims to mobilize close to 800 billion euros ($841 billion) to enhance Europe's defense capabilities.
