Story

In November 2024, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador is set to host the Grand Slam of Curling's Kioti National. This event marks a significant return of top-flight curling to the Newfoundland and Labrador capital since the last Brier held there in 2017. During the 2017 event, local curler Brett Gallant expressed strong emotional ties to that moment as he helped his team, skipped by Brad Gushue, to victory in front of an enthusiastic home crowd. The Kioti National features an elite field of 16 men's and women's teams competing in a series of games from Tuesday through Sunday. The Gushue-led team, ranked second in the world, is joined by other top teams, including the rink skipped by Brad Jacobs, who is also performing well in the current season.
