In Detroit, an investigation is ongoing after three individuals were discovered deceased inside a burnt vehicle. Fire crews responded to the scene of the vehicle fire on Sunday morning at approximately 5:53 a.m., in the vicinity of 30th Street and Milford Street. After extinguishing the flames, emergency personnel found the bodies of the victims, which were described as being 'burned beyond recognition.' The Detroit Police Department Homicide Task Force and Fire Investigation Division are actively working to determine the events leading up to this tragic incident. Following the discovery of the corpses, law enforcement identified Edward Redding as a suspect connected to the homicide. Redding has been charged with a firearm offense, specifically one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. According to court documents filed on Monday, detectives examined a silver 2009 Saturn Vue registered to Redding, which had been seen in the vicinity and reportedly was following the victims' vehicle shortly prior to the fire being reported. Law enforcement later located the Saturn and attempted to make a traffic stop; however, Redding allegedly fled from the scene. During the chase, he reportedly ran red lights, nearly collided with other vehicles, and ultimately crashed into a median before abandoning the vehicle on foot. Upon searching the Saturn, investigators unearthed a black Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver and various documents bearing Redding's name. Redding was apprehended soon after. During the investigation, Redding purportedly claimed he fled because he is on parole and initially said he was unaware of the gun's presence in the car. Yet, he later admitted to seeing the firearm and acknowledged that it was the reason for his attempt to evade capture. The circumstances surrounding the deaths of the three victims remain unclear, and police have yet to release their identities. As the investigation unfolds, authorities continue to gather evidence and piece together the events that led to this devastating incident.
