Women volunteer twice a week through the "Justice-involved Women" program, which enables them to gain skills that will assist with their reentry into society. The initiative ensures that inmates can prepare for interviews and feel confident as they transition back into their lives outside of incarceration. Jessica, an inmate of eleven months, shared how this program has positively impacted her mental health, helping her overcome anxiety and depression. The project was inspired by a community-driven effort to train inmates and provide clothing donations, ensuring the women are equipped and prepared for post-release life. Goodwill has plans to extend this program to male facilities and collaborate with other locations across California to implement similar initiatives in various correctional facilities.
