Georgia's Uga misses Texas rematch with Bevo on October 18

In Austin, Texas, the beloved Georgia mascot, Uga XI, will not be making the trip to support the team during a highly-anticipated matchup against Texas. The decision, confirmed by his owner Charles Seiler, is attributed to the challenging logistics involved in traveling with the 2.5-year-old English bulldog. Uga XI previously missed a road game due to similar issues, as the long distance can be taxing on the dog. Seiler expressed concern for Uga XI's well-being, stating that the travel is strenuous and the dog hasn't flown or been on a team bus yet. The absence of Uga XI is notable as the previous mascot, Uga X, had a memorable encounter with the Texas longhorn steer mascot, Bevo, before the 2019 Sugar Bowl. That incident gained attention as the two mascots interacted during a pregame photo opportunity, attracting both media and spectator interest. Fortunately, both mascots emerged unscathed from that incident, resulting in a friendly photo later on. Uga X, affectionately known as 'Que,' sadly passed away in January, leaving the current Uga XI in a somewhat different spotlight. As game day approaches, Seiler and fans will be watching the action unfold from home. While Uga XI's absence will surely be felt, the expectation remains that it will be an engaging matchup nonetheless.
