Story

DETROIT — Ford Motor Company has officially launched a redesigned version of its popular Maverick pickup truck, introducing a range of technological advancements and performance options. The 2025 Maverick features a refreshed exterior and interior, highlighted by a 13.2-inch center touchscreen, an all-wheel-drive hybrid option, and enhanced connectivity with a 5G modem, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. Since its debut in 2021, the Maverick has exceeded expectations, becoming a surprising success for Ford. The entry-level pickup has seen a significant increase in production and sales, with a remarkable 77% rise in vehicles built through June 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. John Emmert, Ford's general manager of trucks in North America, noted the "unprecedented demand" for the Maverick, which has solidified its position in the market. Despite a price increase from approximately $20,000 for the 2022 model to $26,295 for the 2025 hybrid version, Ford maintains that the Maverick remains the most affordable pickup truck available. In addition to the new hybrid options, Ford is introducing an off-road "Tremor" package as a standalone model for the 2025 lineup. While the base price is expected to remain stable, the inclusion of higher-end technologies and the Tremor model is anticipated to enhance profitability for the company. Currently, the average transaction price for the Maverick stands at around $32,000, reflecting its value in a market where the average new vehicle price hovers around $50,000.
