An alleged abduction involving three children in Virginia Beach culminated in a tragic car crash on Thursday morning, resulting in the death of the youngest child, a 1-year-old girl. The incident began Wednesday night when police responded to a domestic-related stabbing, where a woman and her daughter sustained multiple stab wounds. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Dana Plummer, is accused of attacking the victims before fleeing with his three children: 7-year-old Zayin, 5-year-old Zayir, and 1-year-old Za'riyah. Following the abduction, an AMBER Alert was issued for the children, which was later canceled. Law enforcement received a tip regarding the suspect's vehicle, prompting a traffic stop attempt. However, Plummer refused to stop, leading police on a pursuit northbound into Maryland. During the chase, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed, where authorities located the three children. While the two older children were found unharmed, the 1-year-old was transported to a hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries. Plummer was apprehended at the crash site and faces multiple charges, including aggravated malicious wounding and parental abduction. Virginia State Police Chief Paul Neudigate expressed condolences to the grieving family, calling the incident an "unimaginable tragedy." The injured mother and daughter are reported to be in stable condition at local hospitals.
