In a significant move for its European expansion, Blue Owl Capital Inc. based in the United States announced the hiring of Robert Campkin as part of its strategy for net lease assets in Europe. This announcement was made on March 24, 2025, as the company looks to build its presence in the European market, complementing its established success in the North American market. Robert Campkin will take on the role of Managing Director and will be based in London, bringing with him nearly 30 years of experience in commercial real estate across Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA), Asia, and North America. Before this appointment, Robert spent six years at Colliers, where he served as Head of Corporate Capital Solutions EMEA. At Colliers, he was instrumental in establishing a notable international team based in key locations such as the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands. Robert specialized in corporate advising, particularly in areas such as sale and leaseback, build-to-suit, and capital solutions, achieving over €2 billion in deal volume during his tenure. His experience positions him well to enhance Blue Owl's capabilities in the European net lease sector. Marc Zahr, the Global Head of Real Assets at Blue Owl, praised Robert for having built one of the most reputable corporate capital markets teams in the industry. With an extensive network of global corporate client relationships, Robert's expertise is expected to be crucial as Blue Owl expands its European net lease platform. Robert himself expressed enthusiasm for joining the team, citing Blue Owl’s successful track record in net lease business and his desire to emulate its North American achievements in Europe. Blue Owl Capital, a leading alternative asset manager, reported managing over $250 billion in assets as of December 31, 2024. The firm operates through three multi-strategy platforms: Credit, GP Strategic Capital, and Real Assets.
