Andrew Tan invests $700 million in Boracay and Cebu casinos

Andrew Tan's Alliance Global is set to invest approximately $700 million in casino projects located in Boracay and Cebu, two prominent tourist destinations in the Philippines. This investment aims to capitalize on the surge in tourism following the pandemic. The company is already operating Newport World Resorts, an integrated casino resort near the main international airport, and plans to expand its portfolio significantly by 2030. The investment includes a $400 million casino project on Mactan Island in Cebu City, which is expected to generate around 5,000 jobs upon completion in 2026. Additionally, a casino resort in Boracay, estimated to cost $300 million, is anticipated to be finished next year. This project will be part of a larger township that features an 18-hole golf course and nearly 2,000 hotel rooms. Kevin Tan, the president and CEO of Alliance Global, highlighted the increasing demand for premium hospitality accommodations from both international and domestic markets. The company is also constructing eight new hotels, which will add 4,000 rooms to its existing inventory of 8,000 rooms across 19 properties. With these developments, Alliance Global aims to enhance its position in the gaming and hospitality sectors, responding to the growing interest in tourism in the Philippines. The strategic investments reflect the company's commitment to expanding its operations and meeting the evolving needs of travelers in the post-pandemic landscape.
