The police executed raids at two residences located on Freemont Street and Quincy Street, uncovering not only the dogs but also equipment used for training, including treadmills, and ledgers documenting the illicit dog fights. Police Chief Anthony Holloway revealed that the dog fighting operations were allegedly funded through the sale of fentanyl and other narcotics. During a press conference, he presented before-and-after images of one of the rescued dogs, highlighting the severe injuries and scars sustained from the fights, underscoring the brutality of the operation. In connection with the raids, six individuals have been charged with animal baiting and fighting, reflecting the serious legal repercussions of their involvement in this illegal activity.
