Story

Since June, inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have been denied access to Iranian nuclear sites following a military conflict instigated by Israel, which saw extensive assaults on Iranian nuclear and ballistic missile facilities. The 12-day war involved airstrikes launched by the Israeli Air Force starting on July 13, during which numerous critical sites across Iran were targeted. In retaliation, Iran fired over 550 ballistic missiles and deployed more than 1,000 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at Israel, resulting in numerous casualties, including civilians. As a result of the escalating military tensions and the violation of non-proliferation commitments noted by the IAEA, Iran has suspended cooperation with the agency and accused the United Kingdom, France, and Germany of pursuing a destructive role in the ongoing crisis. Despite being engaged in talks with the IAEA, Iranian officials demand clarification on the agency's intentions, suggesting a perceived bias towards Israeli interests. The international community remains concerned about the potential implications of Iran's nuclear activities amidst increasing hostility.
