Pakistan duo secures semi-final spots in ITF juniors championship

Pakistan hosted the ITF Pakistan Zainab Ali Naqvi Memorial World Juniors Tennis Championship at the PTF Complex. This prestigious tournament featured young athletes from various countries, including Kazakhstan, Japan, China, and several others. As the competition progressed, the focus remained on the boys' singles matches where Pakistani players performed admirably. Nadir Mirza and Abubakar Talha notched impressive victories to advance to the semi-finals while Amir Mazari, another Pakistani contender, faced elimination in his second round match. This championship highlighted the rising talent in Pakistan's tennis scene and the growing prominence of junior tennis in the region. On the quarter-final day, Nadir Mirza showcased resilience after losing the first set against Kazakhstan's Rodion Likashov but fought back to secure his win in a tightly contested match. He emerged victorious with a final score of 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(4). Abubakar Talha displayed dominance in his match against Haolin Liu from China, winning easily with a score of 6-1, 6-0. In another match, Nadir Mirza and Mikael Ali Baig triumphed against a duo from the UK and Indonesia, thereby continuing their successful campaign in the tournament.
