The occurrences were reported to have taken place between September and November 2022, with charges being announced by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan against Yeimaly Moscat, Yojairis Suazo, and Angelica Morales. Yeimaly Moscat, a 23-year-old bank teller working at a branch in Somerville, is said to have embezzled approximately $40,900 through a series of twelve unauthorized withdrawals from customer accounts. Yojairis Suazo, who was allegedly colluding with Moscat, was also charged but was released on bail after being arraigned. In late 2023, Angelica Morales was brought into the scheme while working at a Citizens Bank branch in Milton, where it is alleged that she processed five transactions to steal a total of $20,000. The Middlesex District Attorney revealed that the investigators identified the suspicious transactions that prompted the charges against the involved employees. Notably, the fraudulent activities were enabled by the trust that customers placed in bank employees, which the accused exploited to invade accounts and conduct transactions with the help of associates. The investigation indicates that both Moscat and Suazo played significant roles in the unauthorized withdrawals, with Morales later being recruited to continue the illicit activities.
