Bhopal"s Transformation: Government Aims for Slum-Free Metropolitan City

The government of Madhya Pradesh is embarking on an ambitious plan to transform Bhopal into a metropolitan city, with a focus on eliminating slums. This initiative was discussed in a review meeting led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who emphasized the importance of developing infrastructure to alleviate traffic congestion. A comprehensive 25-year action plan will be created, involving various authorities to ensure systematic development and investment policies based on successful models from other states. To address immediate infrastructure needs, the Chief Minister announced that the tender process for development works will conclude by October, allowing construction to commence promptly. Key projects include the completion of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Marg and the construction of a four-lane road connecting Piplani B Sector and Khajurikalan, with significant progress already reported. In addition to road improvements, the government plans to enhance healthcare facilities by constructing new hospital buildings and implementing modern waste disposal methods. The Metro Rail Project will be executed in phases, with a specific focus on the Vande Bharat Metro, which aims to improve public transportation. Furthermore, the initiative encourages citizens to adopt renewable energy solutions, such as installing solar panels on rooftops.
