Story

A luxurious co-op on Central Park West has hit the market for $10 million, previously home to notable figures like Barbra Streisand and Mariah Carey. Streisand resided in the building for over three decades, occupying a penthouse once owned by lyricist Lorenz Hart. After her divorce in 1971, she continued living there with her son until she listed the penthouse for $10 million in 1998, ultimately selling it for $4.25 million in 2002 after facing multiple rejected bids, including one from Carey. The current listing, owned by real estate mogul Michael Friedman, boasts an impressive 3,500 square feet of living space. It features a 700-square-foot landscaped wrap terrace with stunning views of Central Park, the reservoir, and the city skyline. The four-bedroom, 4½-bathroom residence opens from a private elevator landing into a spacious gallery, with the main bedroom suite offering direct access to the terrace and a luxurious spa-like bathroom. Additional amenities include a junior suite that also opens to the terrace, a windowed eat-in chef’s kitchen, and a formal dining room. The building, which is pet-friendly, offers residents access to a gym, bike storage, and private storage options. Monthly maintenance fees are set at $8,777. The property is being marketed by brokers Ariel Tavivian, Yair Tavivian, and Anna Kwon of Douglas Elliman.
