Story

Katie Price, the former glamour model, faces a suspension of her TikTok income as part of ongoing efforts to address her financial obligations stemming from two bankruptcies. A judge ruled today that payments to Price from the social media platform will be halted until a resolution is reached. Price, 46, was recently arrested after returning from a £10,000 facelift in Turkey and was not present at the remote court hearing. The Insolvency and Companies Court, presided over by Judge Catherine Burton, deemed it "appropriate" to suspend further payments to Price. She has been declared bankrupt twice, first in November 2019 and again in March 2023. Price is scheduled to appear in court later this month to provide details regarding her financial situation. Barristers representing the trustee of Price's bankruptcies had requested the TikTok payment suspension, but the platform's lawyers indicated they could not consent due to the complexities of their payment mechanisms. TikTok's barrister, Lauren Kreamer, noted that while some progress has been made, investigations are still underway to determine how the platform can comply with the court's order. Price has previously received significant payments from TikTok, including £84,000 for a three-month agreement to create e-commerce content. Following her bankruptcy declaration, she has faced additional financial challenges, including an eviction notice for her £2 million property, known as Mucky Mansion. She is required to attend the upcoming court hearing on August 27 without exception.
