K-Pop Contest in Bhopal: Regional Round Winners Head to Delhi

The All India K-Pop Contest 2024 recently held its Bhopal regional round at Sardar Vallabhbhai Polytechnic College, attracting a vibrant crowd of K-Pop enthusiasts. After five weeks of traveling across India, the contest featured 31 participants selected from 575 registrations in the online round. A total of 21 teams competed, divided into vocal and dance categories, showcasing their talents in front of an enthusiastic audience. The dance category was won by the seven-member group 'Traverse,' who performed BTS's 'Idol.' In the vocal category, the duet by Honey and Vibhuti Lal, singing 'Eyes Nose Lips' by Taeyang, secured the top spot. Other notable performances included Mayuri Patil and Pratiksha Pawar, who were the first and second runners-up in the dance category, respectively, while Kanchan Devi and Nancy Singh achieved similar honors in the vocal category. Participants performed a variety of popular K-Pop songs, including tracks from Itzy, Stray Kids, IU, and Alexa, reflecting the genre's widespread appeal. Zaid Khan, a participant in the vocal category, shared his personal journey into K-Pop, highlighting the genre's global influence and his desire to connect with fellow fans through music. The winners from Bhopal will now advance to the semi-finals in New Delhi on October 19, where they will compete against other regional winners. This contest not only showcases talent but also fosters a sense of community among K-Pop fans across India, celebrating the vibrant culture of K-Pop music and performance.
