Inglewood, California, has recently seen a significant change in its alcohol service regulations at the newly constructed Intuit Dome, home to the L.A. Clippers. Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 3206, allowing the sale of alcohol until 4 a.m. in the VIP club area of the arena, which is part of a pilot program aimed at enhancing the venue's appeal. This decision comes as part of a broader initiative to support the local economy and promote Inglewood's revitalization. The bill was sponsored by the Clippers' owner, Steve Ballmer, and authored by Assemblymember Tina McKinnor, who emphasized the importance of this legislation for the city's renaissance. The extended alcohol service is limited to a private area of no more than 2,500 square feet and is applicable only after major events, such as sporting events or concerts, have taken place. This new regulation is set to remain in effect until January 1, 2030, providing a unique experience for VIP guests while also adhering to state laws that typically restrict alcohol sales during early morning hours. The Intuit Dome, which cost $2 billion to build and has a seating capacity of 17,700, is not only a sports venue but also a concert location, having hosted its opening night with a performance by Bruno Mars. The pilot program reflects a strategic move to enhance the entertainment offerings in the area and attract more visitors.
