Story

Vice President Kamala Harris has made a splash on TikTok, amassing over three million followers since launching her official profile late last week. In one of her first videos, she humorously addressed former President Donald Trump alongside singer JoJo Siwa, playfully asking, “What are we going to say to Donald Trump in November?” to which Harris responded with a nod to NSYNC’s hit song, “Bye, bye, bye.” The account, @KamalaHarris, has since featured four videos, including a clip of Harris receiving support from Barack and Michelle Obama and moments from her visit to the set of RuPaul’s Drag Race. In a pre-recorded message delivered at the Voters of Tomorrow Summit, Harris emphasized the importance of young voters in shaping the future of the nation. She acknowledged the pressing issues facing the current generation and highlighted her commitment to listening to their concerns. “Last year, I convened more than 15,000 Young Leaders on my nationwide fight for our freedoms college tour,” she stated, underscoring her dedication to engaging with youth on critical topics. Harris posed a pivotal question to the audience: “What kind of country do we want to live in?” She contrasted a vision of freedom and compassion with one of chaos and fear, urging young voters to take action. “We are counting on you to energize, to organize and mobilize and to fight for our most fundamental freedoms,” she concluded, rallying support for the upcoming election.
