The Hilline police in Ulhasnagar apprehended Riya Barde, a Bangladeshi adult film star, for illegally residing in India with her family using forged documents. Riya, along with her mother Anjali Barde and siblings, had entered India without valid documentation and managed to obtain Indian passports, Aadhar cards, and PAN cards through fraudulent means. Anjali provided fake birth certificates to facilitate this process. The family had lived in Maharashtra after Anjali's marriage to Arvind Barde, but their illegal activities came to light following a tip-off from Prashant Mishra. A case was registered under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Foreigner Act. Riya has been remanded to police custody for further investigation, while her family members have been implicated in the case, with some having traveled abroad. The police are currently investigating the sources of the forged documents and the extent of the family's illegal activities. This incident highlights ongoing issues related to illegal immigration and document forgery in India, raising concerns about the effectiveness of border control and the potential for exploitation of vulnerable individuals seeking better opportunities.
