However, the competition remains fierce, with rookie quarterback Drake Maye, the No. 3 overall pick, still in contention. Head coach Jerod Mayo emphasized that the evaluation process is ongoing, stating, "the competition isn't over," following the team's recent preseason loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
