Usha Chilukuri Vance, the wife of J.D. Vance, has officially departed from her position at the law firm Munger, Tolles & Olsen following her husband’s announcement as Donald Trump’s running mate at the Republican National Convention. Before her tenure at the firm, Usha gained significant experience as a law clerk for prominent judicial figures, including Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. and Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Her educational background is impressive; she earned her law degree from Yale Law School, where she held editorial positions at the Yale Law Journal and the Yale Journal of Law & Technology. Usha also holds a B.A. in history from Yale and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, where she was a Gates Cambridge Scholar. Usha and J.D. Vance met during their studies at Yale Law School and married in Kentucky in 2014. They have three children and reside in Cincinnati, Ohio, where J.D. Vance serves as a U.S. Senator.
