In South Korea and France, Samsung has launched a revised Galaxy Trade-In program aimed at enhancing consumer accessibility and long-term device value. The program, which commenced today, also intends to create significant savings for participants by allowing them to exchange select Galaxy smartphone models without a mandatory purchase. Operated by Likewize, a company specialized in insurance and repair services, this new offering reflects strategic adjustments intended to boost customer engagement with Samsung's flagship devices. Previously, Samsung's trade-in program only permitted exchanges during designated periods, particularly surrounding product launches. This update significantly expands the opportunity for customers to participate year-round. Notably, consumers can trade in devices from the Galaxy S20 series to the S23 models, as well as Samsung's foldable offerings from the Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 to the Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5. However, newer models like the Galaxy S24 and Z Flip/Fold 6 are excluded from the trade-in eligibility. This shift in policy comes at a time when consumers have heightened expectations for trade-in programs as part of their purchasing decisions.
