PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - KDKA-TV has announced an extension of its partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers, ensuring that the station will remain the home for Steelers broadcasts through the 2027 season. This agreement grants KDKA-TV and KDKA+ exclusive rights to air all preseason games, along with a variety of supplementary programming that includes shows such as The Steelers' Draft Show, Training Camp Show, and various pre-and post-game shows. KDKA-TV president and general manager Chris Cotugno expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the station's commitment to bringing preseason football to southwestern Pennsylvania. Longtime sports anchor Bob Pompeani, who has been with KDKA-TV since the first televised preseason game in 1998, will continue as the play-by-play announcer. He highlighted the honor of being part of Pittsburgh's football tradition and looks forward to serving fans in the upcoming seasons. Joining Pompeani in the broadcast team will be former Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch as color commentator, with Missi Matthews serving as the sideline reporter. A.J. Ross and Max Starks will handle pre-and post-game duties, ensuring comprehensive coverage for fans. Steelers' vice president of sales and marketing, Ryan Huzjak, expressed excitement over the extended partnership, noting that this agreement marks 29 consecutive seasons of broadcasting preseason games and providing extensive year-round coverage for Steelers fans in the region.
