Silicon Valley Ties to New Development in Solano County
- Marc Andreessen's family plans to build a visionary subdivision near the proposed California Forever utopia city.
- The large housing development project is set to be constructed in the vicinity of the new city.
- This initiative aims to provide sustainable and modern housing options for residents near California Forever.
Andreessen Horowitz co-founder Marc Andreessen is married to Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen, whose family has deep roots in Solano County real estate. Following the death of her father in 2022, an LLC operated by her brother, A&P Children Investments, has initiated plans for a mixed-use development featuring over 1,000 homes near Vacaville, just 10 miles from the ambitious California Forever project. A representative for A&P indicated that the property will ultimately be sold to benefit Arrillaga-Andreessen and her brother, John Arrillaga Jr. California Forever is a proposed master-planned community that aims to develop over 60,000 acres in Solano County, with land acquisitions starting in 2017 by members of Silicon Valley’s elite. Project leaders were unaware of the Arrillaga family’s connection to A&P Children Investments during their land purchases and stated they had “never made an offer” on the LLC’s property. A spokesperson clarified that the project had been in development long before they learned of the Arrillaga family's ownership. The demand for housing in Vacaville is surging, with local real estate agents noting that any new construction is likely to sell quickly. The land owned by A&P Children Investments, however, is not currently zoned for urban development and will remain undeveloped for the time being. The city of Vacaville is set to embark on a three-year planning process to evaluate the proposed development plans.
