Users of hydrogen vehicles have also reported long waiting times at the limited stations that are currently operational. Clean air advocates stress the importance of hydrogen as a critical component for increasing the prevalence of zero-emission vehicles across California and envision a future where a hydrogen highway facilitates easier travel. They are hopeful about the potential developments over the next decade, including Sacramento Regional Transit's plans to explore hydrogen as a power source for some of its buses, which may be generated using sewage at regional wastewater treatment facilities.
