Governor of Liguria Resigns Amid Corruption Investigation

ROME – Giovanni Toti, the governor of Italy’s Liguria region, announced his resignation on Friday after being under house arrest since May due to a corruption investigation. Toti, a member of the right-wing political faction, faces allegations of exchanging political favors for campaign funding. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing, asserting his commitment to the region's interests.
