On December 3, 2024, in Atlanta, Dan Toomey commenced his role at Holbrook Holdings, where he will oversee the 5-Star award-winning Holbrook Income Fund (HOBIX) alongside Scott Carmack and Ethan Lai. This strategic appointment comes just as the company prepares to launch a core-plus strategy in 2025, signaling a strengthening of their portfolio management team. Toomey's previous experience includes serving as Senior Trader for Millennium Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund, where he gained substantial expertise in trading and portfolio management. His earlier role as Senior Portfolio Manager at the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) had him managing approximately $4 billion in fixed income securities, during which time he earned recognition as the top Corporate Bond portfolio manager among U.S. pension funds with assets exceeding $10 billion. Scott Carmack, the founder and CEO of Holbrook Holdings, expressed enthusiasm for Toomey's arrival, highlighting the importance of having skilled professionals in their team for future success. Carmack confidently stated that pairing Toomey's extensive background in corporate credit with Ethan Lai, recognized as a leading Structured Credit manager, would significantly enhance their investment strategies, ultimately making a strong impression in the financial market. Holbrook Holdings currently oversees two mutual funds, the Holbrook Income Fund (HOBIX) and the Holbrook Structured Income Fund (HOSIX), collectively managing over $2.2 billion in assets under management (AUM). The Holbrook Structured Income Fund is poised to develop a three-year performance track record by May 2025, further contributing to the company's solid foundation in the investment landscape.
