General Mattis inaugurates NewDay USA Leadership Center at Georgia Military College

On September 12, 2024, General James N. Mattis, a retired four-star Marine Corps General and former Secretary of Defense, delivered the keynote address at the grand opening of the NewDay USA Center of Leadership located at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Georgia. This event highlighted the commitment of NewDay USA to foster leadership development for military families and the wider community. The NewDay USA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of NewDay USA, is the largest donor to this facility, emphasizing its dedication to supporting military communities. The center, which spans 28,937 square feet, is designed to provide innovative learning opportunities for students aspiring to lead in various fields, including public service, business, sports, and the arts. It features a 753-seat theater equipped for Broadway-level productions, a full orchestra pit, and classrooms aimed at facilitating engagement with experienced leaders. General Mattis underscored the importance of qualities such as respect, resilience, and integrity in future leaders during his address. Rob Posner, the Founder and CEO of NewDay USA, expressed pride in the partnership with Georgia Military College, which aims to inspire the next generation of leaders. The center is expected to serve as a hub for leadership development, allowing students to learn from respected figures across multiple sectors. To date, the NewDay USA Foundation has contributed over $10 million in scholarships for children of veterans, reinforcing its mission to uplift military families. This initiative marks a significant step in NewDay USA's ongoing efforts to support and empower the military community.
