RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das visits Lalbaugcha Raja during Ganesh Chaturthi 2024

Ganesh Chaturthi, a significant festival in India, particularly in Maharashtra, commenced this year with vibrant celebrations. The festival typically lasts for ten days, drawing numerous devotees to various pandals across the region. One of the most notable pandals is Lalbaugcha Raja, located in South Mumbai, which celebrated its 91st year of festivities. This pandal is renowned for attracting a large number of visitors, including prominent figures from various sectors. During the recent celebrations, Shaktikanta Das, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, visited Lalbaugcha Raja, engaging with the crowd and the organizers. His visit was marked by a sense of devotion as he took 'Darshan' of the idol, interacting with attendees and being accompanied by family members. The event showcased the communal spirit of the festival, with Das being part of the sea of devotees. The Lalbaug Mitra Mandal, which manages the pandal, reported significant donations during this year's festivities. They received contributions in the form of 3.5 kg of gold and 64 kg of silver, which were auctioned, generating a revenue of Rs 80.7 lakh. This financial support highlights the generosity of devotees and the pandal's ability to attract substantial contributions. The visit of high-profile individuals like Das underscores the cultural importance of Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai.
