Story

In late October 2024, Razer introduced the Barracuda X Chroma wireless headphones, enhancing their popular gaming headset line. This new model features customizable RGB lighting with six zones and a glowing Razer logo, allowing users to personalize their gaming experience. The headphones connect via Bluetooth or Razer’s 2.4GHz HyperSpeed technology, providing a lag-free audio experience. Enhanced battery life is a significant benefit, offering up to 70 hours with lighting off, though it reduces to 35 hours with the RGB LEDs activated. The Barracuda X Chroma also boasts impressive design elements, including memory foam cushions and swiveling earcups that provide comfort during extended gaming sessions. A detachable HyperClear cardioid microphone allows for clear communication, and the headphones are equipped with a volume dial and mute button conveniently located on the left earcup. Despite their new features, these headphones weigh slightly more than the original model, increasing from 250 grams to 285 grams. Availability began with a preorder option for $129.99 in two colorways: black and white. Razer plans to ship the product by early November 2024. The option to customize lighting to match specific gaming setups or personal preferences emphasizes Razer's commitment to providing gamers with versatile and immersive equipment. While the headphones support multiple gaming platforms, including PCs, Macs, and consoles like the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation, they do not support Xbox’s wireless protocol, limiting their compatibility within certain user bases.
