Tragedy at Delhi Coaching Center

Delhi witnessed a tragic incident on Saturday when three students lost their lives after becoming trapped in the flooded basement of an IAS coaching centre in Rajendra Nagar. The area experienced heavy rainfall, leading to severe water-logging that submerged the basement where the students were attending classes. A girl student was among the deceased, and a video circulating on social media shows her body being retrieved by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). Emergency services, including the Delhi Fire Service, NDRF, and local police, quickly mobilized to the scene after receiving reports of the missing students around 7 PM. Despite their efforts, including attempts to contact the students via mobile phones, the rescue teams faced challenges due to the rising water levels. The NDRF utilized pumps to drain the basement in hopes of locating the trapped individuals. In response to the incident, Delhi's Minister of Education, Atishi, expressed her condolences and assured the public that those responsible for the tragedy would be held accountable. She provided updates on the situation through her social media channels, confirming the presence of local officials, including the Delhi Mayor and local MLA, at the scene. A magistrate has been assigned to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, emphasizing the government's commitment to uncovering the truth and ensuring accountability.
