The terminal has been expanded to 1152 sqm, accommodating 150 passengers during peak hours and 4.1 lakh annually, featuring essential facilities such as check-in counters and a baggage conveyor belt. The airport's design incorporates local culture, with artworks that celebrate Solapur's rich heritage, including representations of the Lavani dance and traditional musical instruments. A total of ₹64.95 crore has been invested in this project, which is expected to significantly boost the local economy and tourism. FLY91, a new regional carrier, will operate services under the Viability Gap Funding scheme, ensuring financial support in case of losses. Passengers will also benefit from ticket subsidies, making air travel more affordable. Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol recently reviewed the airport's progress, confirming that construction is nearing completion. Discussions have included potential routes such as Solapur-Goa, Solapur-Mumbai, and Solapur-Hyderabad, with efforts underway to commence operations swiftly, providing residents with essential air services.
