Story

As India approaches its 78th Independence Day, nationwide preparations are underway, culminating in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flag hoisting ceremony at the historic Red Fort. This year marks Modi's 11th consecutive address on this significant occasion, with the theme centered around 'Viksit Bharat,' which envisions transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, coinciding with the centenary of independence. The theme underscores the government's commitment to harnessing the potential of every citizen to drive national progress. In a bid to foster national pride and participation, the central government has launched the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, encouraging citizens to celebrate Independence Day by displaying the national flag at their homes, offices, and shops from August 13 to 15. Modi has called on all Indians to engage in this initiative, highlighting the rising trend of sharing selfies with the national flag on social media platforms as a means of expressing patriotism. The main celebrations will take place at the Red Fort in Delhi, where PM Modi is scheduled to hoist the national flag at 7:30 AM, followed by his address. The event is expected to draw significant attention, with over 4,000 special guests from various sectors of society in attendance. In total, around 18,000 e-invitation cards have been distributed, allowing guests to bring their family members to partake in the festivities. As the nation gears up for this momentous day, the emphasis on unity and collective participation reflects India's ongoing journey towards development and national pride.
