A 25-year-old Seattle man, Andy Chu, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder following the death of his girlfriend, Zoey Suyun He, who was visiting from Hawaii. According to police reports, the incident occurred between August 9 and 10, when Chu, allegedly under the influence of the drug molly, assaulted He after claiming she was “acting weird.” Authorities discovered He’s body on August 10, with signs of severe trauma and attempts made by Chu to revive her. Emergency responders were alerted to Chu's residence after neighbors reported water flowing from his condo. Upon arrival, they found He in the bathroom with significant injuries, including trauma to her face and neck. Investigators noted that Chu had attempted to “fix her jaw” using an ice pack and a block, and a heavy object was lodged in her throat. Surveillance footage captured the couple entering the condo with groceries the previous day, while later footage showed Chu leaving alone, allegedly concealing something under his shirt. During police interviews, Chu provided a disjointed account of the events, admitting to choking He and holding her underwater.
