Marilyn Monroe's Former Home Designated as Historic Cultural Monument

In a significant move, the Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted to designate Marilyn Monroe's former home as a historic cultural monument, effectively preventing its demolition. The new owners, Bank and Milstein, have since filed a lawsuit against the city, claiming that the preservation efforts were unconstitutional and that Monroe's connection to the house was overstated. They argue that her brief residency does not meet the criteria for historic designation.
